2. Painted Glass Jar Vases
Empty pasta sauce jars, pickle jars, and jam containers are usually destined for the bin, but with a little bit of leftover acrylic paint, they make gorgeous rustic vases. Thoroughly wash and peel the labels off your glass jars, making sure to remove any sticky residue using warm soapy water and a bit of oil or rubbing alcohol. Once the glass is completely clean and dry, you are ready to add the magic touch of color.
Squirt a generous dollop of your favorite acrylic paint color directly into the inside of the jar. Slowly swirl the jar around, tilting it at different angles so the paint coats the entire interior surface evenly. Turn the jar upside down over a piece of scrap cardboard or newspaper to let any excess paint drip out. Let it dry completely for twenty-four hours. The result is a stunning, glossy colored glass vase that looks high-end and expensive. Fill your newly minted vases with fresh garden clippings, dried wildflowers, or faux greenery to instantly brighten up your kitchen windowsill or dining table centerpiece.
