Empty metal cans from soup, beans, or coffee are sturdy, durable, and practically begging to be repurposed into indoor planters for your growing succulent collection. Clean the cans thoroughly, ensuring no food residue remains, and carefully press down any sharp inner rims with pliers to ensure safety. If you have a hammer and a small nail, punch a few drainage holes into the bottom of the can so your plant roots do not rot.
Personalize the exterior of your metal cans using whatever decorating supplies you have lying around. You can wrap them in burlap, twine, strips of colorful duct tape, leftover wallpaper scraps, or coat them with spray paint.
