5. Seasonal Paper Garland for the Mantel

A paper garland is one of the most joyful projects you can make, and it costs almost nothing when you use cardstock scraps. Cut leaves, hearts, pumpkins, snowflakes, or stars with your Cricut, string them together, and drape the finished garland across a mantel, window, or shelf.
You’ll need cardstock in seasonal colors, twine or fishing line, a hole punch, a small needle, and glue dots for any embellishments. Design your shapes in Design Space, cut them in batches, and use the Cricut’s scoring tool if you want to add dimension by folding. Punch a hole in the top of each shape, thread your twine through, and space them out for a balanced look.
This is genuinely a kid-friendly project and takes about 45 minutes, depending on garland length. Try a pastel rainbow of eggs for spring, rich oranges and burgundies for fall, or kraft paper stars for a year-round neutral garland. A common mistake is making the garland too heavy, so stick to lightweight cardstock and a thin twine to prevent sagging.
