3. Mummy Mason Jar Luminaries

Mason jars wrapped like mummies with googly eyes glowing with candles

These giggly mummy jars are the friendliest monsters here — ideal when little kids are part of your Halloween. Wrapped in gauze with oversized googly eyes, they glow warmly with a tea light inside.

Line them along a walkway, group them on a porch step, or use them as party centerpieces. Each takes about ten minutes once you find your wrapping rhythm.

What You’ll Need

  • Mason jars or any clear glass jars
  • Rolled gauze or white crepe paper streamers
  • Large googly eyes
  • Hot glue gun
  • Battery-operated tea lights

How to Make

  1. Wrap gauze loosely around each jar, leaving a small gap near the top.
  2. Secure the end with a dab of hot glue.
  3. Glue two googly eyes onto the gap so they peek through the wrapping.
  4. Drop a battery tea light inside each jar.
  5. Display after dark and watch them glow.
