6. Beaded Bangle with Wire Wrap

If you want a sturdier bracelet that doesn’t rely on elastic, a wire-wrapped bangle is a lovely project. It uses a single piece of craft wire or thin gauge jewelry wire that you shape into a circle, then decorate with beads along the top portion.
This pattern looks more advanced than it is. The trick is choosing a wire that’s stiff enough to hold its shape but thin enough to bend comfortably with your hands. 18-gauge or 20-gauge aluminum wire is a forgiving choice for beginners.
Materials: 18-gauge or 20-gauge jewelry wire, 4mm to 6mm beads, round nose pliers, flat nose pliers, wire cutters.
Time: 1.5 to 2 hours
Difficulty: Beginner to intermediate
Wrap the wire around a cylindrical object slightly smaller than your wrist (a soda can or small jar works well) to form the bangle shape. Leave both ends extending upward to create the decorative top section. String beads onto each end, alternating colors as you go, then use round nose pliers to create a small loop at each tip to keep beads secured.
You can leave the wire ends exposed for an industrial look, or wrap them decoratively around the bangle’s base. Two or three beads on each side is plenty for a minimalist style, while a longer beaded section creates more of a statement piece.
