7. Friendship Bracelet with Letter Beads

7

There’s something nostalgic about friendship bracelets, and adding letter beads gives them a personalized twist. You can spell out a name, a meaningful word, a song lyric, or even an inside joke between friends.

Letter beads typically come in acrylic, painted wood, or metal. Acrylic is the most affordable and comes in dozens of colors, while wooden letter beads have a soft, handmade look that pairs beautifully with natural fiber cords.

Materials: Embroidery floss, hemp cord, or stretch cord, letter beads, accent beads, scissors, tape or a clipboard to hold your work in place.

Time: 30 minutes to 1 hour

Difficulty: Beginner-friendly

For a simple version, cut three pieces of embroidery floss, braid them together, and string letter beads onto the braid. Knot the ends and trim. For a slightly more polished finish, add a sliding knot closure using two beads.

Letter beads also work wonderfully on stretch cord. String the name or word you want, then fill in the rest of the bracelet with complementary solid beads. This is one of the most popular beginner projects for kids and tweens, but honestly, it’s a hit with all ages.
